Parent Volunteers Support Morning Arrival at Newbridge Road

March marked the beginning of Family Fridays at Newbridge Road Elementary School, an initiative that will continue through the end of the school year. Parents are invited to volunteer in the front circle at arrival time.
Principal Amanda Licci said that the goal is to get more parents involved in the school. Newbridge Road strives to create a warm, welcoming and joyful environment, and Ms. Licci said this is a new opportunity for families to actively contribute to that goal.
Family members can sign up through ParentSquare, with up to six slots available each week. Volunteers arrive about 10 minutes early and support student drop-off in the front circle, ensuring that it is safe and students are greeted with a smile. The parent volunteers are given badges, which they return once all students have arrived and are safely in the building.
Ms. Licci said the first few weeks have been successful so far and what has struck her most is the increased interaction among families. Family Fridays is already achieving its goal of building community and a stronger sense of belonging.
