2023-2024 School Board meetings are held at Martin Avenue School, 7:30 p.m.  

Christine Malloy, President   
Christine Malloy is in her fourth year on Board of Education and is serving as president for the first time. She has lived in the community for more than a decade and her has four children – three at Grand Avenue Middle School and one at Saw Mill Road Elementary School. Ms. Malloy has been a secondary teacher for nearly two decades, working with both general education and special education students, and also serves as a class adviser and student liaison.

Nina Lanci, Vice President   
Nina Lanci is the longest-tenured member of the Board of Education in her 19th year and is also a trustee on the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District Board of Education. She is a past president of the Martin Avenue PTA. Ms. Lanci has the distinction of being the first woman inducted into the Bellmore Lions Club and has served as its president. She and her husband have a daughter who graduated from Martin Avenue School and Mepham High School.

Melissa Cmar-Grote, Trustee   
Melissa Cmar-Grote has served on the Board of Education for the past eight years and is one of the district’s representatives on the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District Board of Education. She and her husband have two daughters who graduated from Saw Mill Road Elementary School, where she twice served as co-president of the PTA. Ms. Cmar-Grote is a licensed clinical laboratory scientist in microbiology at Sunrise Medical Laboratories.

Rosemarie Corless, Trustee   
Rosemarie Corless was first elected to the Board of Education in 2006 and served until 2013. She rejoined the board in October 2018. She moved to North Bellmore in 1990 with her husband, and their three daughters attended North Bellmore and Bellmore-Merrick schools. Ms. Corless has worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner, caring for children with cancer, for more than 30 years, including the past nine at Cohen Children’s Medical Center.

Christopher Nardo, Trustee   
Christopher Nardo is a long-time resident of Merrick and currently raising two children, a daughter who attends Park Avenue Elementary School and a daughter at Grand Avenue Middle School. This is his second year serving on the Board of Education and he was a member of North Bellmore’s Reopening Team. He is a New Business Developer at the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, and spent his early career at JP Morgan, Barclays and Citibank in their institutional trading groups. Mr. Nardo holds a master’s degree in finance from Adelphi University and a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University.
