Nicholas, a North Bellmore student, insisted on playing his trumpet for the veterans, even when the parade and his band performance were canceled due to the weather.
 
North Bellmore is so proud of Nicholas for his kindness, compassion, and determination to uplift the lives of our local veterans and honor them for their sacrifices. 
Saw Mill Road Student Honored for Her 
Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking

Brynn Kasper, a sixth grader at Saw Mill Road Elementary School was recognized at the Nassau Region PTA Reflections Reception on April 14 at Wisdom Lane Middle School.  Brynn's film, entitled "Imagination: A Dream Journey" was a winner in the Middle School division.  Her entry was one of 455 from Nassau County to reach the New York State level of judging, where her film was selected to receive the distinguished New York State PTA Award of Merit.  Her video will be displayed at the Reflections Art Gallery at the NYS PTA Convention in Saratoga Springs, November 11-13. Upon receiving her award, Brynn said,  
"I am very excited to be a New York State Reflections winner, but I am even more excited to represent Saw Mill Road School."
