From the Desk of Mrs. Skelos, Principal:
John G. Dinkelmeyer Elementary School
The John G. Dinkelmeyer Elementary School is a place where children,
parents, teachers, staff and administrators work together to help
each child reach their individual potentials. By working together we
can make a difference.
Our dedicated administrators, teachers and staff are committed to
the children and their families. They work hard to enhance their
skills with strategies that support the curriculum through continuing
educational opportunities at the Teacher Center or by common planning
with their colleagues. Throughout the school year and summer many
hours are spent on creating exciting lessons that inspire and make
the curriculum come alive. Maintaining a line of open communication
with children and their families supports their efforts.
Dinkelmeyer parents educate themselves by staying current and involved.
An active and enthusiastic PTA provides many wonderful opportunities
to the children. These include events such as the annual Fall Festival
and Spring Carnival and many educational, but fun assemblies throughout
the school year. The Shared Decision Making Committee and our new
Beautification Committee's are additional ways our parents stay involved
and informed. Dinkelmeyer parents are committed to supporting their
children's education by maintaining an open dialogue with their children
and their teachers. We are most appreciative of our PTA's generosity
and support throughout the school year.
At Dinkelemeyer, children learn to respect themselves, property
and others to ensure a safe environment for all. Character development
has an integral role in our educational philosophy and curriculum.
The children learn to assess their own behaviors with our Levels
of Behavior and have found that recess can be peaceful when they
participate in the many Peaceful Playground games they have been
taught in their physical education classes. Maintaining a respectful
environment is critical in enabling the children to focus on the
task at hand, which is to learn the curriculum and to learn to be
good citizens in society.
The Dinkelmeyer community is committed to working together to make
a difference. Perhaps you'd like to come and join us. |
