Spring 2008 Jacob Gunther PTA Newsletter
Co-President’s Message Spring 2008
Spring is finally here, the weather is getting warmer, more children are staying on the playgrounds and we are starting to wind down the school year. But some business still needs to be done. Executive board and fundraising chair people positions need to be filled, many thank yous need to be said and forms need to be filled out. This will be the final newsletter of the year and we have tried our best to incorporate as much information that we could. We hope that this has been helpful to you this past year. For the upcoming school year, we will be sending out the newsletter every other month.
Please join us at our April 9th PTA meeting. With everyone’s generous support this year, we have monies to buy the school and children a gift. So at that meeting we will be voting on whether to buy the school a smart board, portable sound system, or benches for the north side playground. Also all the children who participated in the Reflections program will be recognized and a short presentation will be given on the district orchestra program. Then at our May meeting, voting on board positions will take place. In addition, Mr. Mucci and Ms. Cincotta will be there to present the district budget for the 2008/09 school year. For all voting, you must be present and be a PTA member.
As we begin planning for next year, we would love some feedback from you. Please call us with any of your thoughts, ideas, comments or questions.
For those of you who attended the 50th Anniversary Celebrations, we hope youhad as wonderful a time as we did. The evening was filled with friends and memories. We were delighted to have Mr. Young (Gunther’s first principal) as a speaker. He had so many wonderful stories to tell and you could see on his face the joy the evening brought to him. We were also grateful to have Mr. Anderson, Mr. Gaccione, Mr. Colon and Mrs. Stark as speakers. Once again, thank you to Mrs. Plantyn and Mrs. Stock for all their efforts in making the night a success. Thank you to all the families who attended. A BIG thank you to our wonderful custodial staff, Mr. Brower, Mr. Marshall and Mr. Law for their help that night – they did go above and beyond and we do appreciate it.
On a final note, we would like to wish everyone a safe and happy summer.
To our graduates, the best of luck in Grand!
